12V Battery Packs for Agricultural Sprayers

Built for pump current, in the original casing

Knapsack and powered sprayers almost all run a 12V pump, and almost all ship with a sealed lead-acid battery that is heavy, slow to charge, and finished after a season or two of daily use.

Why lithium suits this job

  • Weight. The battery is carried on the operator's back all day. A lithium pack of the same capacity is a fraction of the weight.
  • Usable capacity. Lead-acid should not be run down past roughly half; a lithium pack can use most of what it holds. In practice that means more tanks per charge from a smaller battery.
  • Cycle life. Daily discharge is exactly the duty that kills a lead-acid battery quickly.

Sizing it for the pump

The pump motor draws a steady current while spraying and a higher one at start. We size the pack and its BMS to that draw so the sprayer does not cut out mid-tank, and we build to the original battery compartment so it clips back in as before.

Change the charger too

If the sprayer came with a lead-acid charger, it must be replaced along with the battery. This is not optional — a lead-acid charge profile applied to a lithium pack will damage it and is unsafe.

What to send

A photo of the existing battery, its label and the compartment, plus how many hours of spraying you need per charge. For a fleet of sprayers, one sample is enough for us to quote the set.

Need this built to your own specification?

Send us the voltage, capacity, discharge current and the space you have — or a photo of the battery you are replacing. We will come back with a specification and a price.
