A solar array without storage exports its surplus and buys it back after dark. Storage keeps that surplus for the evening. Whether it is worth installing depends entirely on numbers specific to your site.
Sized against two things
Your daytime surplus — how much the array generates beyond what the property consumes while the sun is up. Storing more than that is money spent on capacity that never fills.
Your evening load — what you actually consume after generation stops. Storing more than that is capacity that never discharges.
The useful battery size sits at the smaller of those two figures. Systems get oversized when they are specified from the array size alone.

A recent electricity bill, your array size, the inverter model, and roughly what runs in your home during the evening. That is enough for a sensible capacity recommendation — and if storage would not pay for itself on your usage pattern, we will tell you that too.
