Security and monitoring equipment asks something specific of a battery: hold charge for a long time, survive a hot enclosure, and be there when the supply fails. Runtime under heavy load matters far less than not degrading while sitting still.
Why LiFePO4 for this duty
These packs spend most of their life at or near full charge, often in a sealed box on a pole or a wall in full sun. Both conditions age ordinary lithium-ion faster than they age LFP. For solar-powered cameras, which also cycle daily, the case for LFP is stronger still.

Solar-powered sites
If the camera runs on solar, the battery has to carry consecutive overcast days, not just one night. Sizing on a single night is the most common reason these installations fail after a few months. Tell us the site and the load and we will size it with reserve.
